Livelihood Substitution: The Case of the Lyari Expressway

There is a movement among members of communities effected by development projects which did not take their concerns into account to demand that the government initiate public consultations in the planning stages of the project. It is important that such efforts be supported by citizens so that public consultation and discussion can be institutionalized.
